Myntra is a major Indian fashion e-commerce company headquartered in Bengaluru, India. The company was founded in 2007 to sell personalised gift items. In May 2014, Myntra.com was acquired by Flipkart.
The Style Code Campaign
Long before ‘Gully Boy”, right when things were picking up in the hip hop scene, and right when it was cool before it became mass, the MYNTRA STYLE CODE Idea was born.
Needless, to say it did well for a brand that was speaking to the youth and was trying to associate itself as the go-to site for ordering clothes and apparel that are trendy and young.
The Idea
There are various aspects to Hip-hop. We identified them and the idea was to make films highlighting each of these.
We began with ‘7 Bantaiz’, B’Boy Flying machine & Graff artist Melwin and highlighted what they bring to the world of hip hop, how they create their own unique style inspite of coming from humble backgrounds. 7 Bantaiz are all about clothing. Flying Machine is all about shoes. And Melwin is all about design in clothes and even shoes.
The Process
Shooting in the underbelly of Mumbai is something that always excites people across the globe. We felt no different. Understanding their story and capturing it in the best possible way was the task at hand.
